About Me

I was a Banker.  All my life. 25 years of it anyway.  I worked hard and I was good. Really good. One of the best in the world.  Recognized and compensated accordingly. At the apex of Banking I did something that almost no one does.  I left. At the top of my game. No health reasons and no other job.

I left because I realized the same reason I was so successful in Banking could possibly make me successful outside and leave me with a cleaner conscious.  The reason I did so well in my career…I cared too much about my clients. I advocated for them as if I were fighting for my own children. Yet at the same time I had to represent the interests of the Bank and the management of the Bank and the Shareholders of the Bank.  How could I possibly always do what was “best for the client”. It was an impossible situation.

So I left. Assuring my clients I would not let them down.  I needed them to trust me. I could be the best possible Banker by not actually working at a Bank.  

Little did I know that was a huge understatement.

After the mandatory time away, the first client called asking for help financing a new large private aircraft. It was time to test my theory. I was wrong. I couldn’t get him a better deal. I could get him an astronomically better deal. Holy cow. He was so thrilled he added $25,000 to my fee. I wasn’t thrilled. My heart sank. I felt a little sick. Maybe it was an anomaly? Then a client who wasn’t happy with Treasury services moved almost $500 million to another Bank. Months later their savings in fees alone was in the hundreds of thousands. Then the trend continued. Every time on every deal. For so many years I had clients who were so loyal to me that they had followed my advice and were so comfortable in a big bank relationship that they had overlooked the possibilities.

Not anymore.

We protect our clients confidentiality while researching as many as 20 institutions for a particular transaction if appropriate.
We will not allow our clients to sign on the dotted line unless we are sure we are getting them the best possible deal.
